This is a 19oz slim boot cut model.
This boot cut silhouette is on the tight side from the hips to the waist, and then slightly wide from the knees to the hem.
The denim used here is our 19oz Kiwami denim, which is created on a vintage shuttle loom by pounding together slubby #5 thread for the warp and #4 thread for the weft. This denim has the hardest texture of all of our original fabrics and produces incredible fades.
The patch on these feature a lunar eclipse representing the flared silhouette and the huge Musashi and Kojiro to denote the heavy 19oz denim. Other details include an exclusive flasher, the iron sunrise buttons, copper coin-shaped rivets, the SAMURAI woven label, and our ‘Impermanence’ jaquard slake.
For the sewing, we’ve stuck mainly to two colors: original yellow and golden brown, with the stitch count, needle count, and stitch width all varied according to each part of the jeans to bump these up to the next level of attention to detail.
This model also features a few inches of selvedge on the sides, which is usually not possible with flared silhouette patterns. The arcs on the back pockets represent seagulls in flight, done in dark blue stitching, the stitching pattern appearing over time as the colors fade.
