Twisted yarn that employs indigo yarn is not something that you normally see on the market. Here we’ve created something special by creating a twisted warp yarn using “kinari” or natural ecru mixed with indigo yarn for the warp, and also indigo yarn for the weft. Although this fabric sounds simple enough, we were only able to create it with the cooperation of a venerated dyeing factory that specializes in indigo, a company with a wealth of experience gained only by the many challenges it has chosen to tackle over the years. Normally, if you want a nice mottled, heather appearance, you would use a plain weave with tightly-twisted mottled yarn to give you that effect, but here we’ve actually used a soft-twist twill yarn instead. By using twill, the warp itself is really emphasized, and the resulting fabric looks almost like “kasuri”, which is a traditional Japanese fabric woven with fibers dyed specifically to create patterns and images in the fabric. 

The mid-length spring jacket has motorcycle and work details throughout, and can be worn with collar upright or by using the straps.
