For models with a “W” suffix in the product code, the sizing differs from the standard version without it.

A slim straight cut from our Yamato series.

 

These sport a shallow rise and are slim from the waist to the hem, making them the slimmest cut in the Samurai stable. We used our 15oz “Yamato Damashi” denim, which roughly translates as ‘the heart and soul of Japan’, made by weaving together slubby, extra-long fibers on a vintage shuttle loom. This gives the denim a really supple texture, but also makes for some incredible vertical fades. 

 

The leather patch is tanned cowhide leather and depicts the beautiful scenery of Japan. Other details include an exclusive flasher, decorative stitching (“Passing things on to future generations”), a rayon “Phoenix” label, silver-plated cherry blossom buttons, cherry blossom rivets, and indigo jacquard pocket bags. 

 

For the sewing, we’ve used mainly golden brown thread, with the stitch count, needle count, and stitch width all varied according to each part of the jeans to bump these up to the next level of attention to detail. Other details unique to the Yamato jeans are the original silver thread used for the locks and bobbin threads, and the black thread in the middle of the triple stitching seen in the rolled stitches and pocket openings. 

Due to changes in specifications, the arcs stitching and the woven SAMURAI label on the back pockets have been removed.
