S50CV-SC01 NATURAL INDIGO 10oz DENIM CHORE JACKET

$671.00
“Samurai Cotton Indigo-dyed Denim Coveralls”

A 10oz denim chore jacket made with #10 Samurai Cotton thread, which has the same slubby shape as the yarn used in our 17oz Zero denim. This is used for both the warp and the weft and is a very special high-twist thread that has a hard and uneven texture, made with the bits of cotton leaf and stem left in. The warp yarn is dyed in indigo, also known as “Japanese blue”, and is really representative of the art of Japanese dyeing. The threads are dyed by hand using a method called “kasezome”, or hank dyeing, and there will be color variations between individual threads that give the fabric a very unique look and that warm aura of indigo. The weft has been left undyed and unbleached, retaining the beautiful color of the original cotton. The inspiration for this jacket is the classic collared chore jacket, but we’ve also done this one with our own flair such as putting the selvedge at the center of the back.
